God dances over us

Zephaniah 3:17: The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

The word midst is qereb and means inner thought, inward feelings.

He is a mighty Warrior, strong and brave, in us.

He is glad, delighting and expressing joy over you

He takes pleasure in you

His love gives you rest and peace

The last part that says He will joy over thee with singing doesn’t quite capture the meaning….. it would read better as — He passionately spins and dances, shouting and singing over you with joy because He is overcome with you!

This is God! Overcome with joy and love for us because we are His! Not because we’re believers or Christians or we go to church…. God has no “us” and “them” mentality. This is who the Father is to ALL because ALL are HIs. (Eph 3:15)

When we think of God this is what He should look like. He is LOVE!
