Love hid us in Christ

I love that the root of the Hebrew word hid (chaba) is to love (chabab).

In Genesis 3:10, Adam said “I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was AFRAID, because I was naked; and I HID myself.”

Col 3:3 says we are hidden in Christ. Love hid us in Christ from before time began (Eph 1:4) and still has us hidden in Christ (Col 3:3).

But fear caused Adam to hide or withdraw himself from God’s love. Sin didn’t separate Adam from God because God could no longer look on sin… NO, fear caused ADAM to withdraw himself from God’s presence, from HIs love.
